| After having created, developed and coached the highly successful Olympic Way program, PCS coaches wanted to create a new program that allowed for improvements in how children are taught to swim. The outcome of this discussion is the Lightning Fast Swim Series!
Lightning Fast is based on a Swimming First Philosophy which introduces the techniques of competitive swimming right from the earliest levels, to develop improved levels of swimming efficiency and skills. It is designed primarily for 6 to 10 year olds who want to learn to swim with confidence, gain endurance and improve stroke technique. The series is designed by our award winning Pacific Coast Swimming coaches and is an innovative skills-based swimming program designed to be mastered quickly by young children.
Many children have already excelled in the Lightning Fast Swim Series, with the guaranteed small class of no more than six swimmers per instructor. The emphasis in this program is to learn to swim through actual swimming. If you are concerned about the small amount of swimming that takes place in a normal swim lesson, then this is the program for you.
Swimmers proudly receive their Lightning Fast T-Shirt and earn iron-on lightning bolts as they progress. Approximately once per month these swimmers may attend an optional swim meet to test their newly acquired skills.
PCS is offering this same series at Saanich Commonwealth Place, Gordon Head and the University of Victoria's swimming pools. The same exciting program, the same low student teacher ratio!!
If your child is aged 5 or older and is able to swim 15m on their front, or has completed AquaQuest Level 5, this is the program for you. Class size 4-6 per coach . Cap and t-shirt provided for each participant.
