2014 Canadian National Championships

Day Two Finals

Air quality was dropping and the lightning storm was coming in as the first whistle blew to begin the finals session tonight. Lightning struck in the UVPCS camp both for better and for worse.

400IM Jordan Andrusak swam a well paced race and finshed second in the B Final but was subsequently disqualified for turn infraction.

In the 4x200 F.R. the UVPCS women's team ( Gowans, Mock, Andrusak, Crisp) qualified 10th this morning in a 15-17 club record. Tonight they moved up to 9th spot and crushed the Vancouver Island regional record finishing in 8:35.71 (previous ISA 8:39.42 '08)

In the team score the women moved up to 8th spot while the UVPCS combined position slipped a little to 15th among the 70 scoring teams.

Competition continues tomorrow. Heats at 9:00 PST and Finals at 5:00 PST.
