2014 Man-Sask Day One Update

Bandanas for Best Times

Friday was the first full day of competition at the Pan-Am Games Pool in Winnipeg for Man-Sask Championship. The previous evening Allison Ballantyne, Anya Pasemko, Victoria von Sacken Nash and Raymond Chou all swam the 200IM. Victoria logged the team's only best time in the event with a 5 second improvement. Both Allison and Anya qualified for the 13/14 B-Final which will be swam Saturday evening.

Friday was a strong day for Allison who swam all best times in the morning, qualifying for finals in the 100BF, 50FR, and 100BK. Anya and Victoria also swam themselves into the finals in the 50FR and 100BK and the 200BR respectively. Ana MacLeod had her first swim and best time of the meet in the 400FR with a 3 second drop to 4:56.52.

During the finals session Allison continued to swim strong with bests in the 100BF going under 1:10 for the first time, going 1:08.58, finishing 1st in the B Final and missing the 27s by a hair in the 50Fr going 28.02, finishing 5th in the A Final. Allison wrapped up her session with a 8th in the 100BK A Final. Anya swam to 3rd in the 50FR B Final and 5th in the 100BK A Final. Victoria had a strong technical swim finishing 4th in the 200BR B Final.

Saturday is a big day for everyone, and should provide great opportunities for swimmers to fight their way into the finals.
