AAA Update from SwimBC

Good day, Coaches.

As mentioned in the note sent out on Tuesday along with the Psych sheets, we are looking at around 720 swimmers at AAA Champs, with the potential for some more yet who may qualify out of AA Champs this weekend.

Therefore, after consulting with BCSCA, we will make the following adjustments to the meet:

  • All 400m Free prelims, plus 800/1500 Free events will be swum two per lane
    • This will include the fastest heats of 800/1500 which will be swimming during finals at night
  • Unless we receive three scratches in the 13&U Boys 800/1500 Free:
    • The two non-qualifiers (AA entry times) in the 13&U 1500 Free will have the option of swimming the 1500 Free on Thursday during the final heat of the girls 800 Free, or selecting a different event
    • At least one 11&U boys 800Free swimmer will swim on Thursday
  • Depending on the number of qualifiers/entrants in 800/1500 Free from AA Champs, some or possibly all of those late entrants may have to swim on Thursday as well (Thursday is currently the only day that has more than one or two empty lanes after double-laning the heats)
  • Morning session of relays will have some 12&U relay teams swimming in a combined heat with another age or gender

Below you will find links to two documents - psych sheet as well as session report.

As always, bookmark those links for reference, as the psych sheets in particular will be updated as we receive necessary changes.

It looks like the time validations are almost complete - it appears that all clubs but three have had all of their entries now validated. Thank you for the cooperation on that front.

If you are looking for pre-meet training time in Victoria, please contact Mark Lancaster for availability.

That’s all for now.

Kind regards,

Mike Flegel
