Boys Finish First, PCS Takes Second Place at the 10&U Championship in Comox

Twenty-two 10&U swimmers competed over the weekend at the First Annual 10&U Championship in Comox. They swam hard over three sessions and earned many top finishes, standards and best times.

The swimmers also appreciated their moms who sacrificed a day at the spa to hang-out pool side with the team!

Congratulations to the following swimmers on winning the total point aggregate awards:
Maya Stevens - 8yr old girls
Nolan Crisp - 8yr old boys
Griffin Arnatt - 9yr old boys
Nathan Chow - 10yr old boys

Also, congratulations to Emma Attwell and Madeleine Earl who qualified for Vancouver Island Regionals! Emma qualified in the 50 FR on her lead-off leg of her 4x50 FR relay. Madeleine qualified in her 50 BK race on Saturday afternoon.

The Esquimalt LF program had their strongest showing yet with 5 swimmers competing over the weekend including Elliot Pierce, Sebastian Hon, Anna Hooper, and Madeleine Earl. Naeva Scott-Bouris, also from Esquimalt, continued to knock down VIR qualifying times earning three more standards for a total of five in the past few weeks.

Competing in his first ever meet, Sebastian Damian (LF level 2 @UVic) raced hard in his 25 FR and 25 BK nearly breaking 40s in his freestyle! Sebastian followed in the footsteps of his big sister, Thea Damian, who had her best meet to date dropping tonnes of time in all of her swims.

The boys side finished first overall at the meet, while overall PCS finished in second place behind host club Comox Valley Sharks. Well done PCS!
