CIS Day 2

CIS University Championships delivered another great day at the pool including some great swims from the Vikes.

Ryan Howe started off the night in the 100 Backstroke, finishing in 4th in the B-Final, 12th overall in a time of 58.61 Long Course after qualifying in a time of 55.57 Short Course.

In the 400 Fr, Kaity Gervais came from behind to win the B-Final of the 400 Free in a time of 4:23.68 Long Course.

Jon McKay also came from behind in the Men's 400 Free but couldn't quite earn a medal, placing 4th overall in a time of 3:57.93 Long Course.

Jordan Stariha came second in the Women's 200 Breast B-Final in a best time of 2:39.22 to continue her great efforts this weekend against a very strong women's breaststroke field.

In the Women's 200 Butterfly, Rachael Newman placed 8th overall in a time of 2:21.27 Long Course, after a 2:15.34 effort earned her way into the A-Final.  Lauren McMillan swam her way to 16th place in a time of 2:24.06.

Jon McKay, having missed the 200 Butterfly final due to the short course heats, won the B-Final convincingly in a time of 2:03.24 Long Course. 

In the A-Final of the Men's 200 Butterfly, Craig Dagnall swam to 7th place overall, in a time of 2:07.49 Long Course after a 2:01.17 Short Course heats swim.

Finally, the 4x200 Freestyle relays closed out the night.  The women's team finished in 11th place in a time of 8:45.13 Long Course, while the Men fought their way to 6th place in a time of 7:42.52 Long Course.

Stay tuned to the final night tomorrow night as the vikes look to close out the weekend on a high note, with the 800 and 1500 Freestyles, the 200 IM and the 50 Breaststroke all promising for Vikes success.
