Day Four Report from the 2014 Western Canadian Championships

The fourth day of competition at Westerns proved another great one for PCS. The evening began with 200 Fly. Jordan Andrusak was swimming her 22nd race of the weekend. She qualified 3rd in prelims and was just off her best. In the finals race her first 50 was blistering and she left he field behind setting a new PB at 100m and never looked back snapping 5 sec of her best to take the gold.

Vicky Mock swam an excellent technical race (her 15th) finishing 10th overall in the Open division.

Justin Howe had a strong night swim to come 15th overall. While his time was off his prelim time of 2:14 he again showed technical improvement and heart.

In the 50m Freestyle there were a few twists. Molly Gowans tied for 3rd in the Youth Final taking 2% off her best. The girls in 1st and 2nd also tied to the 100th. Gowans received a bronze in the event.

Nicholas Beland completed the distance just over his stellar prelim performance to tie for 14th.

In the final individual event of the competition, 200IM,  Jordan Andrusak went head to head again with Canada's top 14 and unders. Her strategy took her from 1st to 3rd then up to and but she had to settle for bronze and a PB. She rounded out an ambitious schedule of 24 races later in the evening on the final Relay.

Lauren Crisp took 3rd spot in the consolation final in her best at 2:22.

Rosie Moulton raced to 5th in the Open category at 2:21. And Ryan Howe concluded just outside the medals in 4th spot.
