FISU Games Has Begun; Jon McKay and Stephanie Horner Putting Up Good Times

The third day of FISU games are under way and already PCS swimmers Jon McKay and Stephanie Horner have begun performing at a high level.

Yesterday Stephanie swam the 1500 Freestyle. She was chosen to represent Canada at the FISU games in the Open Water 10km event (to be held in a few days), but decided to swim this event as well. She swam well, finishing in a time of 7:17.63, good for 15th place overall.

Jon was selected to the team for the 1500 Freestyle, but swam the 400 Freestyle today. His prelim time today of 3:54.28 was a few tenths of a second slower than his best time, but that time was set in a great swim in finals of World Trials this spring. His swim was good for 13th place overall.

With both Jon and Stephanie swimming their best events later in the competition, these preliminary results are definitely promising. We look forward to seeing how the meet progresses!
