PCS Wins VIR Short Course Champs in Nanaimo!

With eighty-five Pacific Coast Swimming swimmers attending the regional meet in Nanaimo, the energy was electric on deck, helping us capture the VIR Short Course Championships. Winning the meet over cross town rival Island Swimming and eight other Vancouver Island clubs wasn`t an easy task, as the Bolts were short handed with some of our top age group swimmers racing at the Arena Grand Prix meet in Austin, Texas. A number of PCS swimmers qualified for AAA’s with big best times over the three day meet, as well as an astonishing forty five swimmers reaching the podium in individual events.

The UVic Vikes were also hitting the water over the weekend at two meets in Vancouver, racing at BC Senior Circuit on Saturday and going head to head with the SFU Clan on Sunday at the top of Burnaby Mountain. 2nd year Vikes standout Ryan Howe had a great Sunday against the Clan, earning his CIS qualification and booking his ticket to the CIS National Championships taking place Feb 26-28, at the University of Laval in Quebec City.
