Vicky Mock represented Canada at Junior Worlds

Vicky Mock competed for Canada at the 2016 FINA World Junior Open Water Championships from July 16-18 in Hoorn, Netherlands.

Competing in the 18-19 year old's 10km race on July 17, Vicky came in for a drink on the first lap as planned.  However, Vicky had mis-judged her placement within the pack as she approached the feeding dock, and subsequently lost the leading pack of swimmers.  She would finish 21st overall and second Canadian.

On the third and final day of competition, Vicky would anchor the 19 and under 4x1.25km relay for the Canadian crew, including 2 Men and 2 Women on each team in any order.  She would finish with the fastest split on the team while passing the Egyptiand and Croatian teams to claim 15th place for the Canadians.

Back on home soil now, Vicky has a quick turnaround as she will swim the 10km World Cup in Lac St. Jean with teammates Stephanie Horner and Eric Hedlin.  This competition will also serve as a qualification for the 2017 Open Water World Championships and the 2017 FISU games team.
