The meet-elves were busy, it's really quite cool;

The psych sheets were hung, on the website with care;
And all the kids look, to see themselves there;

Highlights from the Richmond Meet

Annie Macintosh won the 50FR and was 3rd in the 50FR eliminator both in best times. In 100FR she swam from lane 8 to snatch bronze in a PB. She was also 3rd in 100BK and 4th in 200FR.

Weinberger wins Open Water Swimmer of the Year at Big Splash Awards 2011

The Big Splash Awards are taking place in Toronto tonight, and both Richard Weinberger and his coach Ron Jacks are nominated.  Weinberger is nominated for Open Water Swimmer of the Year, and Ron as Open Water Coach, respectively; they are also nominated for Race of the Year.

Herman Mock Memorial Bursary Applications

Reminder that applications for the Herman Mock Memorial Bursary are normally due November 1st annually. The deadline has been extended this year to November 30, 2011.

Applicants must be swimming at a minimum level of BC Provincial Championship standard for the current year. Applicants must be able to show need and be better than a general academic standing of B on previous reporting period.

PCS Officials Training Clinics

Each year, PCS hosts a number of officials training clinics to help prepare us to host the best meets in BC and beyond!  This year, we are going to begin by offering the following Level I (Timing), Stroke and Turn, Starter and Referee clinics:

I. Saanich Commonwealth Place (Aquatics Classroom)

Saturday, November 19th: 8:30 – 10:00 am (Level I/Timing/Chief Timer Clinic)

Saturday, November 19th: 10:00 – 12:00 pm (Stroke and Turn Clinic)

Monday, November 21st, 6:00 - 7:30 pm (Stroke and Turn Clinic)

11 More Medals on Last Day of SFU Meet

The second day of the SFU Clan Cup was another successful one for UVPCS swimmers, with 11 more medals, and another CIS qualification by Zac Parkes.

14 Medals for UVPCS on the First Day of SFU Meet

UVic-PCS swimmers had a successful day at their second meet of the year, the SFU International Clan Cup.  Many swimmers competed in the finals for multiple events, and Uvic-PCS is leading the scoreboard over 8 other teams.
