June 12 Letter from the PCSPA President

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hello, and on behalf of the PCS Parent Association Board, I hope that everyone is staying safe
and doing well during these uncertain times.

As President of the PCSPA, I want to assure you that the board, along with the coaches, have
been virtually meeting regularly since March. It has been a steep learning curve for everyone
involved in trying to provide continuity during these times.

COVID-19 Update: March 22

We understand this is a difficult time for everyone including the swimmers and families as our daily routines have changed so considerably.

As we have had to completely curtail from pool training, we are trying to keep as many of our great coaches on at least a partial salary as we can, while also trying to weather this challenge in a manner that keeps our PCS families safe.

Our actions so far have included:

1.       Elimination of all fees from the families of swimmers in the D-2, D-1, Stroke & Fitness, and Lightning Fast Swim Series programs.

COVID-19 Update: March 18

We are following the federal, provincial and municipal guidelines to the best of our abilities.

All of our pools are now closed until further notice.

We understand this is going to be a difficult time for all of the PCS families. We are endeavoring to continue to offer a schedule so that kids have an opportunity to safely maintain friendships, get outside in an organized fashion and get exercise. Covid-19 Update: March 15

Swimming Canada and Swim BC have sent out some big updates today about recent decisions made, upcoming competitions, and other information relating to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.  UVPCS will follow their lead as well as that of our local pool and city managers, in order to do our best to prioritize the safety of our swimmers and community moving forwards.

At this time, we are running practices and business as usual for now.  Coaches, Parents, and Swimmers are asked to please avoid coming to the pool when sick.
