2003 Club Record Broken at Far Westerns

Pacific Coast Swimming attended the 2023 Far Western Championships July 27-30th in Concord California with 7 athletes. The 30 degree heat at the outdoor pool was no match for our team of athletes who broke numerous club records and swam multiple lifetime bests.

A big congratulations to swimmer Ada Chen who broke 6 of our outstanding 10&under club records throughout the competition. Ada started the weekend off strong by breaking the 10&under 100m freestyle record with a best time of 1:07.94, an outstanding record that has been held since 2003. Elodie Chernenkoff was right behind Ada in the girl's 100m freestyle final placing 5th and dropping almost 3 full seconds off her best time. Ada went on to set club records in the 200 freestyle where she placed third, the 400m freestyle, 50m butterfly, and 100m butterfly. Teammate Elodie swam best times in the 200m freestyle (8th) and the 50m butterfly (6th).
Mila Chernenkoff had her best performances on day 4 of the competition in the 13-14 age group with best times coming in the 50m freestyle and a 5th place finish in the 800FR which was just off her lifetime best by 1.37s.
On the men’s side Evea Eide who just started competing competitively this season in the 11-12 age group swam to lifetime best times in the 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 50m backstroke
Noah Hicks swam two best times in the 100m freestyle as well as the 200m butterfly.
