2012 Age Group Nationals Highlights Days 1-3
Age Group Nationals began on Wednesday of this week. For those of you that haven't been following our Twitter feed, several of our UVPCS competitors have put in remarkable performances in the meet thus far.
On day one, Lauren Crisp had an amazing swim in the 200 Backstroke, gliding to gold in a time of 2:25.10, over six seconds ahead of the rest of the pack. Jon McKay also medalled in the 1500 Freestyle, coming in second place with less than two seconds separating him from the first-place finisher. Vicky Mock narrowly missed a medal in the same event, coming in 4th place in the Women’s 1500 with a time of 18:08.50, while Heidi Ullrich took over seventeen seconds off of her best time to place 12th in the event in her age group.
Day two delivered three more medals for the team. Jon McKay turned in a bronze medal-winning performance in the 400 IM with a time of 4:40.55. Lauren Crisp captured her second gold of the meet in the 50 Backstroke, breaking our PCS club record with a time of 31.53, and Ryan Howe earned a bronze in the Men’s 50 Backstroke with 27.59.
Jon McKay won his third medal of the meet on day three, this time a gold in the 200 Butterfly, touching in at 2:08.67.
