Day Four Summary...

UVPCS cracks open next level.

It was a very strong day for the Victoria crew. The morning performances were important today. "To have a chance to break into the top three for the final score on the girls side we needed to be strong today and make each race count". And make it count they did. Seven individual swims tonight plus 2 relays - all scoring except for one relay.

The evening began for UVPCS with the 100m Backstroke. Lauren Crisp and Molly Gowans represented the team well. Lauren posted a PB but was still just off the podium in fourth at 1:04.8. Gowans was close behind for fifth in 1:06.

Over 200m of Breaststroke Blaire McDowell(2:44) and Eden Kormendy(2:48) were 5th and 8th in the 13 year old girls. Jordan Andrusak established a new 15-17 club record at 2:39 and earned a bronze medal.

In the last individual event of the session Jessica Luo(12 years) lopped over 3 seconds off her best 200m Free to take her first national medal with a bronze in 2:13. Molly Gowans swam a near perfect race to strike gold in 14 year girls in 2:03. setting new regional and club records.

The 14 and U girls 4x100 Fr relay(Ballantyne, Luo, Crisp, Gowans) had a good race together but were edged out of the hardware in fourth at 4:02

In team scoring the girls sit 5 points out of 2nd spot while the team has edged up to 8th position. UVPCS is the top BC team at the competition.

One day of pool swimming remains. Racing gets underway at 7:00am PST.
