AAA Provincial Championships Kamloops July 6-10th

After Day 1 Pacific Coast Swimming leads the team scoring by109 points.

In the 12-13 girls 50 Breaststroke:
Kali Lancaster tied for 1st  Place in a time of 35.59
Trinity Aragon Scriven took  the Bronze medal in a time of 36.82
Sydney Meldrum came in 4th 37.97

14-15 girls 50 Breaststroke had:
Hana Edwards win a silver medal in 35.89
Laura Rincon 6th 36.87

16-18 Girls 50 Breaststroke:
Emily Laidman 7th 35.95
Victoria Von Sacken Nash 8th 36.11

11 & Under Boys 50 Breaststroke:
Atanas Tchaouchev competing in his first AAA`s, came in 4th with a time of 40.55.

14-15 boys 50 Breaststroke:
Michael Schmidt picked up his 1st Gold in a time of 30.53.
Brendan Fitzpatrick our 14 year old who travelled back from Dubai to compete with PCS came in 3rd  in a time of 31.29.

The next event up was the 800 Freestyle where the 12-13 girls swam well both in the heats where Naeva Scott Bouris placed 6th dropping 36 seconds off her best time, for a time of  9.56.57. Followed by Teagan Hunt who swam at the beginning of the finals for 7th in a time of 9.58.90.

Next up was the 14-15 Boys 200 fly, where Artem Kuklev came in 5th in a time of 2:21.26, followed by Jacob Rambo for 7th in a time of 2:22..09.

In the 16-18 Boys 200 fly, Lucas Tyler finished 1st in a time 2:05.54.     

12-13 Girls 200 Fly was up next with Teagan Hunt swimming her second event of the night came in 5th in a time 2:41.77, dropping a slight amount from the heats but showing some spunk after just finishing her 800 Freestyle 15 minutes prior.

In the 14-15 Girls 200 fly, Sophie Lorette came in 7th in 2.24.62.

16-18 Girls 200 Fly, Erin Lawrance placed 4th in 2.25.25.

The 100 Backstroke was up next where 10 year old Nolan Crisp won the 11 & Under event in a time of 1:13.32 setting a new VIR Regional record and out touching his teammate Griffin Arnatt in his time of 1:14.02 who took silver.  Jacob Rambo came in 4th just missing a medal in a time of 1:02.97.

The girls were up next and in the 12/13 Camryn Stannard (12) came in 2nd narrowly missing gold by .02 in her best time of 1:08.37.  Lily Chen was 6th in a time of 1:10.77.

14/ 15 girls Hana Edwards won the gold in a time of 1:04.88 and broke the club record by .01 and missed the Provincial record by .50.  Hannah Lorette celebrated her 16th Birthday by swimming a 1:08.21 and came in 8th.

400 Free was up next for the Boys and Griffin came in 5th 5:11.14 setting a best time by 7 seconds.

In the 14/15 boys Anthony Gutierrez came in 1st in 4:17.83 for a best time and a club record. Artem  came in 7th.

Then the Girls swam 200 Freestyle and in the 12/13 Girls Camryn swam to a gold in a time of 2:10.17 setting a new club record by 3 seconds. Naeva competing in her first AAA`s  finished 4th in 2:15.20 dropping 1 second off her time from the heats. Anastasia Trudel finished 8th in a time of 2:19.60.

Last up was the relays and tonights event was the 4x50 Freestyle relay.  13/14 Girls Camryn, Lily Chen, Hana, and Sophie Lorette won the event in a time of 1:51.69 narrowly missing the BC record by .25.  

The boys 13/14 Keir Ogilvie, Brendan Fitzpatrick, Tom Chapman, and Michael won gold in a time of 1:43.67 breaking the club record by 4 seconds.

B-team of Nolan (10), Griffin (11), Atanas (11), and Anthony (14) came in 8th.

The Girls 18 & Under A-Team relay Jessica, Grace Macdonald, Allison Ballantyne, and Sophie Tarrant won Silver in a time of 1;49.82 narrowly missing gold by .57.

The B-team Lia Lancaster, Erin Lawrance, Camryn, and Victoria Von Sacken-Nash were close to the medals placing 4th in a time of 1:52.07.

Provincials continues tomorrow and should have more fast swimming to come.
