Another record and more medals round out Western Champs.

Day Four Finals Summary

 

The finals session of Canadian Western Championships was kind to the end. PCS rose to the occasion with 3 medals and a club record. The club finished in 4th of 54 scoring teams and number one of the 27 BC teams.

The first event of the night was 200m Butterfly. Sydney Meldrum finished out her meet in 8th spot. Keir Ogilvie settled for bronze in a tight race at the end in 2:08 and teammate Tom Chapman was 18th at 2:16.

 

In the “mad dash’ of 50m Free Ian Goodyear(COMOX just just out of the medals in 4th and a PB of 31.0 in Para category. Ogilvie came in 12th for U16 and Cale Murdock took 7th.

Over 200m Individual Medley Goodyear(COMOX) was back in action to drop 5 seconds from his prelim and notch another PB at 2:49 for 4th. Acacia Benn (KISU) was 7th in 2:27. Tom Chapman finished 6th U16 and 17th year old Jake Rambo stood up for his 18th individual race of the competition taking Bronze in a PB, a 15-17 Club Record and under the senior national qualifying time at 2:09.

 

Individual scoring rounded out the action with Naeva Scott-Bouris placed 5th over 1500m Free in 18:04.

 

The 400m Mixed Medley Relay concluded the meet with Rambo, Rincon, Ogilvie and Scott-Bouris in 7th spot. 

 

The club had 14 medals two club records and one great attitude across the four days of competition. Congratulations to all.
