Arizona Senior Champs Day 2

The night started off with the 200 Medley relay where our girls went in sitting in 5^th place based on their entry time. Leading off with Lily Chen, Laura Rincon, Sydney Meldrum, and Grace MacDonald the team came out of the race in 6^th place.

Next up was the 200 Freestyle where Grace did a great job in the a.m. and swam to within .12 of her best time and placed 5^th after the a.m. heats.

Then came the 100 Breaststroke where Laura had a good swim in the a.m. placing 10^th with a 1:15.66, and Kali Lancaster placed 17^th in the a.m. heats. There was a scratch which placed Kali into the B-Final with Laura. Laura ended up with 12^th and Kali 16^th.

Grace was up again for her 3^rd of 4 events on the night, the 100 Fly where she was a little off her best in the a.m. swim and placed 21^st. Grace dropped .11 and moved up a spot to finish in 20^th.

The last individual event on this hot hot 41c day was the 400 IM where Kali, Sydney, Laura and Jane Maycock made their way to the finals. Sydney dropped some spaces coming in 16^th. Laura and Kali whipped out a 19^th and 20^th place. Jane who was second alternate sneaked her way into the race taking time off from her am swim coming in 22nd.

In the last event of the night 4 x 100 Free relay Grace lead off the team, followed by a good swim by Lily Chen breaking 1:00 for her split, up next was Kali followed by Sydney. The team was going in 11^th with their seed time and our girls moved up three spots and scored some valuable points to keep our female team in 6^th place overall womens team scores.

The meet continues over the weekend.
