BC Senior SC Championships

The two-day BC Senior Short Course Championships wrapped up Saturday at UBC in Vancouver. This meet includes a four-swimmer A-final with the usual 8-lane B-final for 12 final positions.

Congratulations to UVPCS medalists MacKenzie Downing (Gold 100 & 200 Butterfly), Richard Weinberger (Gold 1500 Freestyle), Nicholas Sinclair (Silver 100 & 200 Backstroke), David Creel (Silver 800 Freestyle; Bronze 400 Freestyle & 400 IM) and Ben Partridge (Bronze 200 Backstroke). Additional finalists included Eleanora Dalling, Cody Flegel, Stacy Gossman, Colin Jones, Remy Mock, Danielle Newton and David Vizsolyi.

Congratulations as well to Ben Partridge for achieving both CIS (100 & 200 Backstroke) and Senior National (100 Backstroke) qualifying standards. Fifteen Vikes (8 women, 7 men) are now qualified to compete at the Canadian Intercollegiate Swimming (CIS) Championships in Vancouver, February 19-21, 2009.
