Busy October weekend in Nanaimo & Victoria

UVPCS swimmers and coaches were at the pool in both Nanaimo and Victoria this weekend. Our younger swimmers and their coaches travelled over the Malahat this weekend for the Nanaimo Fall Invitational, while our senior groups competed at the TAS Senior Circuit at Saanich Commonwealth Place.

UVPCS hosted the TAS Senior Circuit again this year for Swim BC. Thanks to everybody who helped, including several families with swimmers in the Nanaimo meet. Thanks to all!

In Victoria:
Event winners at the Senior Circuit were MacKenzie Downing and Whitney Buczkowski, with other top-8 finishers including David Creel, Derek Doerksen, David Killy, Jessica Pietrusiak, Jeff Saganski, Kyle Scarff and Nicholas Sinclair.

... and in Nanaimo:
Ryan Howe placed 1st in all 7 events he swam at the meet and in the process broke two club records, in the 11-12 Boys 100 & 200 Backstroke.

Other top-3 finishers were: Hanna Carter, Michael de Clare, Caleigh Filmer, Evan Letkeman, Lauren McMillan, Rosie Moulton, Stephen Olmos, Brenden Ward and Leanna Woo.

Swimmers with 100% best times in their events were: Graham Atkinson, Shanae Atkinson, Ayaka Behro, Lauren Crisp, Abby Fraser, Daniel Hatenboer, Patricia Horwood, Justin Howe, Nathan Howe, Katherine Krause, Lia Lancaster, Anna Letkeman, Edward Liang, Sofia Liang, Annie MacIntosh, Michael de Clare, Clara MacKenzie, Ana MacLeod, Victoria Mock, Rosie Moulton, Nicholas Nolt, Stephen Olmos, Andre Prescott, Anna Stebeck, Joshua Stebeck, Luella Sun, Grace Thomas, Heidi Ullrich, Victoria von Sacken Nash, Emma Whitten, John Willcox, Katelyn Woo and Patricia Ye.

Those with almost all best times were: Savannah Barratt, Emma Carter, Hanna Carter, Caleigh Filmer, Samantha Gibson, Abby Irving, Evan Letkeman, Heather McMillan, Austn Nolt, Rachel Sawchuk, Leanna Woo and Tabitha Zammit.

And not least, congratulations to Rosie Moulton, who earned her first AAA qualifying time as a 12-year-old.
