Busy Weekend for PCS!

PCS seems to have swimmers everywhere this weekend, participating in many events.  4 swimmers in the PCS family are down in California for the USA Open Water Nationals, we have a contingent over in Vancouver competing at the Hyack Invitational, some of our groups are racing here at home in the Island Medley Challenge meet, and some of our top Junior Swimmers are participating in Swimming Canada and SwimBC camps both this week and the coming week.

For the USA Open Water Nationals, Richard Weinberger, Eric Hedlin and Stephanie Horner race in the 10km race today, and the 5km race Sunday.  Chris Deegan will be joining them for the men's 5km race on Sunday as well.  The 10km men's race started at 11AM this morning, and the Women's race is set to start at 1:30PM. The Hyack Invitational is a big annual invitational in Vancouver.  Coaches Rod, Dave and Meghan have all sent swimmers to compete at the meet, which is a 3 day, prelim and finals meet with some fast age group competition.

Our younger groups, including D1, D2 and C groups are competing at the Island Medley Challenge meet this weekend, another 3 day prelim and finals meet being held at Commonwealth Place.

Finally, Jessica Luo and coach Rod Barratt will be participating in an SNC Relay Meet this weekend.  In addition, Michael Schmidt and Keir Ogilvie will be joining Jessica and Rod as part of TeamBC and training/competing with TeamBC as part of the Mel Zajac competition coming up next weekend.
