Day 2 with 2 new Jr. National cuts at Kinsmen Pool

Another great session in the water this Friday evening in Edmonton for our group of 2022 Western Swimmers. 

Alonso Gurerriez placed second in the B-Final, with another personal best of 54.8, obtaining his second Junior National standard this meet. Atanas Tchaouchev swam another personal best in his 100m breastroke, placing 5th in the A-final and qualfiying for his first Junior National cut. Arran Robertson placed 5th in the Men's open A-final with a time improvement from this morning. 

Riley Greenfield snuck into the women's 400m IM final, dropping four seconds from this morning and moving up 2 places in finals to finish 8th in the B-final. Mattia Nardi placed 8th in the men's 16&under A-final in his 400m IM tonight, too. 

Both 4x200m freestyle relays moved up in the morning heats. Our junior girls ( Hallett, Hier, Rupert & Greenfield) swam the 4x200m freestyle relay, placing 18th overall in the open category. The boy's team (Guterriez, Roberston, van Maren, & Tchaouchev) finished 11th overall. Congratulations to Alonso who was unofficially under the Junior National 200m freestyle time, leading off the relay with a time of 2:01.12. 

We are half way through the 2022 Western Championships, be ready for team highlights coming from the second half!
