Day 3 AAA Provincials Long Course Kamloops.

Well the forest fires burned around the interior of British Columbia today there was

smoke in the air and continued fast swimming in the Kamloops for the Pacific Coast

Swimming Team.

In the morning session some of our team swam some top 8 results in the 50

Backstroke. Lily Chen placed 1 st in the 12-13girls age group in a time of 32.12

Hana Edwards also won Gold in the 14-15girls in 31.24

Nolan Crisp also claimed 1 st place in the 11 & Under boys in his time of 34.77

Then came Jacob Rambo in the 14-15 age group for boys placing 3 rd in 30.07

Brendan Fitzpatrick came in 4 th in a time of 30.31

The first event of the Saturday night session was the boys 1500 Freestyle.

Keir Ogilvie won a Bronze medal in the 14-15boys posting a time of 17:17.79

Anthony Gutierrez came in 5 th 14-15 boys 17:31.54 followed by Artem Kuklev in 6 th

in 17:37.39

Next up was the 100 Breastroke where on the girls side

Camryn Stannard came in third 3 rd for the 12-13girls age group in 1:18.38, followed

closely by Kali Lancaster placing 4 th in 1:19.09

In the 14-15 girls Hana Edwards placed 3 rd in 1:17.38

Laura Rincon finished 8 th in 1:19.85

16-18 girls Sophie Tarrant claimed the Gold closing in on the National standard

with a 1:12.04 Best time performance distancing her from her nearest competitor

by over 5 meters.

On the boys side Atanas Tchauchev (competing in his first AAA`s) placed 8 th in the

11 & Under boys event dropping 2 seconds off his Best time from the a.m. session in

1:31.84

In the 14-15 boys age group Brendan Fitzpatrick won Gold in 1:05.88 outpacing

team mate Michael Schmidt who came in 3 rd in 1:08.47

Next up was the Girls 400 Fr where

Naeva Scott Bouris placed 6 th for the 12-13girls in a best time by over 4:47.82

dropping more than 10 seconds over the day.

Teagan Hunt came in 8 th in 4:50.34

16-18 girls Erin Lawrance helped to tally up some more points by placing 4 th with a

4:34.24

200 Freestyle for Boys came next

Griffin Arnatt started out well and finished with a Bronze medal for 11 & Under

Boys in a best time of 2:25.15

Artem Kuklev faded off his a.m. swim coming in 8 th 2:09.01

100 Fly was up next and

Camryn narrowly missed a bronze placing 4 th in 1:07.09

Jessica Luo had her first final of the night for 14-15 girls winning it in 1:03.20

dropping 1.3 seconds off the a.m. swim Allison Ballantyne placed 4 th for the 16-18

girls event posting a 1:04.95

In the boys 100 Fly Nolan Crisp tied for 6 th place in the 11 & Under 1:18.86.

In the 14-15 boys event Kuklev was again racing but placed 8 th in 1:01.71.

Lucas Tyler won the 16-18 boys event in a time of 57.06

Boys 4x100 Medley Relays were tonight as the girls swam theirs the night before.

The 13&14 boys “A” Team (Brendan Fitzpatrick, Michael Schmidt, Keir Ogilive, and

Anthony Guitterez) set a new provincial record by over 7 full seconds in a time of

4:08.22 narrowly missing the National record by less than a second.

The Senior Boys (Jacob Rambo, Fitzpatrick, Lucas Tyler, Kuklev) placed 4 th .

The last day of the meet is Sunday and PCS looks like they may come out on top and

win their 6 th Provincial title.
