Eric Hedlin and Stephanie Horner competed in the 5km Open Water Time Trial yesterday in Southern Australia. Eric won the Men's event in a time of 54:18.90, almost a minute ahead of second place swimmer Jack McLoughlin in 55:12.60. Jack is an Australian Olympian in the pool, and swam the 1500 in a time of 14:48 in Rio.
Stephanie Horner completed her race in a time of 1:01:24.50, which was good for 7th place in the Women's event.
Eric and Stephanie, as well as teammate Richard Weinberger, have all been pre-qualified to compete at the 2017 Open Water World Championships, and will now continue their preperation.
