Here are the highlights from the first 2 days of competition at the 2011 Speedo Western Canadian Championships in Kamloops from coach Rod.

Day One
Thursday Prelims - New Club Records:
Lauren McMillan (14) - Girls 13-14 50FL (30.53)
Ryan Howe (14) - Boys 13-14 50FL (26.86) and Boys 13-14 50BK (28.54) also new VIR Records
Alexandra Kierstead (14) - Girls 13-14 50BR (34.47)

Day Two
Friday Prelims - New Club Records:
Ryan Howe (14) - Boys 13-14 100BK (59.62) also new VIR record
Lauren McMillan (14) - 13-14 200BR (2:39.48)

Friday Finals Top 8 Finishes:
Ryan Howe (14) - 8th Place Boys 16&U 50FL (27.18)
Lauren McMillan (14) - 5th Place Girls 15&U 200BR (2:37.97) and new club record for Girls 13-14 200BR
Alexandra Kierstead (14) - 7th Place Girls 15&U 200BR (2:41.40)
Sage Sturgeon (19) - 2nd Place Boys 17&O 50FR (23.56) and new club record for Boys 17&O 50FR
Cody Flegel (26) - tied for 3rd Place Boys 17&O 50FR (23.79)

Rachel Newman (16), Stefanie Schmidt (15), Hanna Carter (14), Rosie Moulton (14) - Girls 15-17 4x100FR Relay (3:57.98) - 14th Place overall and new club record stripping over 5 seconds off. Rachael lead out in a PB 58.61, Stefanie second in 59.5, Hanna third in 1:01.9 and Rosie anchoring in 57.9.
