MacKenzie Downing Inducted Into the UVic Vikes Hall of Fame!

MacKenzie came to Victoria in the fall of 2004 and quickly became one of UVic's and PCS' best swimmers.  She represented PCS from 2004 through 2011, during which she swam for Team Canada at the World Championships, the Commonwealth Games, two Pan Pacific Championships, and three FISU games competitions.  MacKenzie won a Gold, Silver and Bronze at the 2007 FISU games, broke three Canadian Records in her career, won 7 national Gold Medals, 17 CIS Medals, and won numerous athletic and academic honours along the way.  She always strived for more every step of the way, and did everything she could to get there - getting to workout and training hard, getting to the gym, eating right, staying hydrated, doing every bit of homework and more, and still getting 8+ hours of sleep each day.  Please see below the video put together by the Vikes to introduce MacKenzie, as well as a video of her speach at the ceremony.  For more information, please see the Times Colonist Story on MacKenzie's Induction Here.
