MacKenzie Downing Set to Compete at Commonwealth Games

UVPCS swimmer MacKenzie Downing is set to compete as part of the 25-member Canadian team at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India. Prior to the Games, the Canadian team held a staging camp in Singapore. While there, MacKenzie who is an avid Formula 1 racing fan, took the time to attend a Formula 1 Grand Prix event that was being held in Singapore at the same time. Here is an interview with MacKenzie about her Formula 1 experience:

The Opening Ceremonies for the Commonwealth Games take place tomorrow with swimming events scheduled to begin on Monday, October 4th and to continue through Saturday, October 9th. Heats for the butterfly events - MacKenzie’s specialty - take place on Monday, October 4th (50 Butterfly), Wednesday, October 6th (100 Butterfly), and Saturday, October 9th (200 Butterfly).
