Mid-March Madness Long Course Meet in Nanaimo

39 Pacific Coast Swimming athletes travelled to Nanaimo to compete in the 1 day Mid March Madness Long Course Meet. This was the first long course meet of the season so it was exciting to see all the best times.

Some of the highlights for the day were:
Griffin Arnatt - broke his own 11-12 Boys 200BK Club Record by over 3 seconds in a time of 2:35.71
Emma Attwell - 50FR, 100FR, 200FR, 100BK all personal best times, as she moves herself closer to the Tier 2 standards for the summer.
Brendan Chow – 100BK, 200FR, 100FR all personal best times.
Nathan Chow – 50FR, 100BK, 200FR all personal best times.
Nolan Crisp – 100BF, 400FR, 100BK all personal best times and breaking the the 11-12 Boys Club Record in the 100BK by over 1 second in a time of 1:12.91
Arthur Firmino – 50FR, 100BR, 200BR and 100FR all personal best times as well as he qualified for Westerns in the 100BR in a time of 1:10.05
Vivian Li – 100BR personal best time by 14 seconds & 400FR best time by 7 seconds.
Kate Marcovitz – 200IM, 400FR (best time by over 30 seconds), 200FR all personal best times.
Sydney Meldrum – 100BF, 200BF personal best times.
Mariana Ponce de Leon – 50FR, 100BF, 100BR, and 100FR all personal best times and also edging closer to the Tier 2 times for the summer. Mariana just started swimming less than 1.5 years ago.
Emma Obee – 50FR, 200BK, 100BK, 100FR all personal best times.
Elena Pepenel - 50FR, 100BR, 100BK, 100FR all personal best times.
Naeva Scott Bouris swam to best times in the women’s 50FR, 100BR and 100BK and she added 2 more Western Standards to her Westerns schedule coming up April 12-15th.
Arran Robertson – 200IM, 100BR, 400FR, 200BR all personal best times and inching closer towards Tier 2 standards.
Annika Rupert – 200BR personal best time by over 6 seconds.
Bridget Rupert – 200IM, 400FR, 100FL, 200FR personal best times.
Lucy Hallet showing her prowess in the 10 & Under category swam to best times in all her events 100FL, 100BR, 400FR, 100BK.
Mello Di qualified for Tier 1 in every one of her swims 200IM, 100 FL, 100 BR.

Next up for the PCS Crew is the Western Canadian Championships in Victoria April 12-15th. PCS will have over 30 swimmers competing.
