Nick Sinclair Wins Gold in Australia!

Down Under at the New South Wales State Championships, Nick Sinclair added a Gold medal to his Canadian National Junior campaign by winning the 200 Back in a dominant time of 2:03.59. Nick finished almost 2 full seconds ahead of his nearest Australian and Canadian competitors.

SYDNEY, Australia – Nick Sinclair of UVic-PCS is competing for Canada as part of a 20-member Canadian National team comprised of 12 junior and eight youth-aged swimmers from the national development program. They have been training in Australia since December 29.

Currently, they are competing at the New South Wales under-18 swimming championships being held this week at the 10 lane Homebush Olympic pool in Sydney. The meet is one of the first International meets to be conducted under the FINA textile only suit rules.

Nick was the fastest Canadian in the 100 Back in a 57.73, placing second to Australian Kenenth To. He was also 7th in the 100 Fly in 57.30. Competition continues through to Saturday.
