Pacific Coast Swimming Parents Association Annual General Meeting

Another season of swimming has started and as the new season begins, it is also time for the Pacific Coast Swimming Parents Association (PCSPA) Annual General Meeting.

We would like to get as many people out to the AGM as possible, so we have combined the event on the same night as Swim with the Vikes.  Come bring your swimmer down to Saanich Commonwealth Place to swim with some of the University of Victoria athletes and attend the AGM while the kids are in the pool.

Along with annual reports from all the various board committees, this year we are proposing a change to our constitution. We hope to see you there!

The following of the constitution changed has been provided by PCSPA President, Tim Smith:

Hi All!
 
In order to accommodate a request from Gaming, (the organization providing PCSPA with over $100,000 in funding), we need to make a change to the wording in our Constitution.  This has been discussed by the PCSPA Board and all, including the coaches, are in favour of the change.  This will be debated at the AGM, Sunday, October 6, 11:30am - 1:00pm at Saanich Commonwealth Place, Victoria, BC.
 
Proposed changes are below.

From:

"Although not Directors of the PCSPA Board, the Pacific Coast Swimming Director of Swimming, Pacific Coast Swimming Technical Consultant, Pacific Coast Swimming General Manager and the Pacific Coast Swimming Director of Athlete Development shall attend all Board meetings, either open or closed, and have one (1) vote each on all issues before the Board of Directors."

To:

"Although not Directors of the PCSPA Board, the Pacific Coast Swimming Director of Swimming, Pacific Coast Swimming Technical Consultant, Pacific Coast Swimming General Manager and the Pacific Coast Swimming Director of Athlete Development shall be invited to attend Board meetings, either open or closed, in order to discuss all matters related to athlete and club development and have one (1) vote each before the Board of Directors. These members shall not be present, nor have a vote before the Board of Directors, in matters involving coaching contracts or salaries."
