PCS: Success at PSW Winter Invit; Two New Trials Qualifiers, Records Fall

The UVPCS crew had a very solid two days in Surrey.

Michael Schmidt and Jacob Rambo both made their Worlds Trials standards. Schmidt ducked under in 100 and 200m Breast setting new club records in both and a regional record in 100m event. Rambo was well under in 400m IM and just missed 200 Bk shortly after. Keir Ogilvie flirted w the cut in 200 Fly missing by .2. He is looking forward to getting some work in before having another go at it in a few weeks.  Schmidt crushed the regional record in 100m taking over a second off his best and was under the record from 1998 by .7.

Sophie Tarrant raced hard for second in 100 and 200m Breast coming up just short of the wins but slashed a ton off her PB’s cruising to 2:35 and 1:12. Both of her swims broke club records and have her dreaming of second swims at World Champ Trials in April.

Teammates Artem Kuklev, Allison Ballantyne, Victoria von Sacken Nash, Anthony Gutierrez, Jessica Luo and Kelsey Andrusak all enjoyed some progress posting some early Long Course season PB’s. For full results check our results page.
