Results from AA's in Kelowna

Well the 2011 Provincial AA's are over and PCS made a fine showing. A small team of 11 swimmers (and their families) accompanied coach Mark to Kelowna for the meet as well as some cake, sunshine, and hangin' by the pool.

Day 1 of competition saw 3 PCS swimmers find the podium with Bronze medal finishes by:
Patricia Horwood (12) - Girls 12yo 50m LC Meter Freestyle;
Riley Tesch (13) - Girls 13yo 200m LC Meter Butterfly; and,
Rachel Sawchuk (12) - Girls 12yo 100m LC Meter Backstroke.

As well, a PCS relay team made the podium with a Silver medal performance by Rachel Sawchuk (12), Patricia Horwood (11), Allison Ballantyne (11) and Sophie Tarrant (11) in the Girls 12&U 200m LC Meter Freestyle Relay.

Top 8 finishes on Day 1 were achieved by:
Kennedy Aragon-Scriven (13), Allison Ballantyne (11), Nicholas Nolt (10), Sophie Tarrant (11), and the relay team of Rachel Sawchuk (12), Kennedy Aragon-Scriven (13), Patricia Horwood (12) and Riley Tesch (13).

At the end of Day 1 we also enjoyed a small party on the pool deck, complete with cake... Happy Aging-Up Sophie!

The podium eluded our swimmers on Day 2 but top 8 finishes were recorded by:
Kennedy Aragon-Scriven (13), Allison Ballantyne (11), Patricia Horwood (12), Heather McMillan (12), Nicholas Nolt (10), Rachel Sawchuk (12), Sophie Tarrant (11), Riley Tesch (13), and the relay team of Rachel Sawchuk (12), Riley Tesch (13), Kennedy Aragon-Scriven (13) and Patricia Horwood (12)

The hardware count improved on Day 3 with 2 more medal swims:
Patricia Horwood (12) took Silver in the Girls 12 Year Olds 200 LC Meter Backstroke, and
Heather McMillan (12) took bronze in Girls 12 Year Olds 400 LC Meter IM

Final top 8 finishes on the day were tallied by:
Allison Ballantyne (11), Ana MacLeod (15), Nicholas Nolt (10), Rachel Sawchuk (12), and Riley Tesch (13).
