Rincon runs down first first Senior National time. Three in top two!

Day Three Prelims Summary

In spite of long days, and, for the athletes who came straight from Trials, their 8th day of competition in 11 days, today was another stellar day. 11 PCS swims in finals and 2 associated athletes scored sp[ots in finals in 3 events. Tune in tonight to see the Blue and Gold in action.

400 Fr Naeva Scott-Bouris was well off her best by qualified 15th in 16 and U and showed determination and grit getting right back on track for her next event and register a PB there. Teagan Hunt was off her best and did not advance. Anthony Gutierrez qualified 13th in 4:17 in U16. Cale Murdock will go into the finals in 1st place with teammate, Rambo, in 3rd.

In 100m Butterfly Ian Goodyear qualified 7th and will swim tonight in Para Final. Sydney Meldrum added another second swim to her debut national meet with a PB in 100 Fly at 1:06.1. Ogilvie qualified 2nd and will run for the medals tonight. 

Laura Rincon and Meldrum both had PB’s in 50m Breaststroke. Rincon’s effort was enough to slide under the Senior National qualifying time to compete this summer, and landed her in 7th in the A Final.

The 200m Backstroke was the final individual event of the session. Naeva Scott-Bouris came alive taking a second off her best moving to 11th and a spot for the evening. Acacia Benn qualified first in 16 and Over in 2:18. Tom Chapman and Jake Rambo also posted A final results  in 9th and 8th respectively. 

The PCS women’s 4x100MR swam at the end of prelims and finished in 4:32(Chen, Rincon, Meldrum, Scott-Bouris).
