Session 3 of 2017 Nanaimo SC Meet

For our last session of the weekend, we started bright and early with the 200m freestyle event. Bridget Rupert started our 10&unders off well, with a solid finish in 2nd place with a time of 2:43.55 dropping almost 11 seconds off her personal best. In 4th place, Lucy Hallett dropped 7 seconds off her best time touching in a time of 2:55.46. For the 11-12 age group category, in 2nd place Naeva Scott Bouris fnished with a time of 2:22.14 dropping almost 8 seconds from her personal best, Maia Denis touched closely behind in 3rd with a time of 2:22.86. On the boys side, Griffin Arnatt placed in 2nd, taking off 2 seconds from his personal best finishing with a time of 2:24.21. Just behind, Nolan Crisp in 3rd place with a time of 2:27.65 dropping almost 7 seconds from his best time. For the 13-14 age group category we had some strong swims coming from Teagan Hunt who touched in 3rd place with a new best time of 2:19.79 and Daniel Damian who also finished in 3rd dropping over 4 seconds from his best with a time of 2:14.26. For our 15&over swimmers, Emma Murdock had a clear finish in 1st place with a time of 2:14.21 and in 4th place, Jane Maycock finished in 2:21.4. On the boys side, Cale Murdock sweeped this event touching in first by over 10 seconds ahead of his 2nd place competitor in a time of 1:53.44. Our next event of the morning session was the 50m backstroke event starting with the 10&under age group category. In 2nd place, Kate Marcovitz with a time of 42.47 dropped almost 3 seconds off her best, Lucy in 4th with a new personal best of 43.00. On the boys side, Noah Hicks touched in 4th with a new personal best by almost 5 seconds and finished in 45.24. For the 13-14 age group category, Hana Edwards finished in 1st place with a time of 30.88. For our 15&over swimmers, Emma had a strong finish to the meet touching in 2nd place with a time of 32.77 and Cale finished in 1st place with 27.74.  Onto the next event of the session, our 13-14 year olds started off the 200fly strong with Sydney Meldrum in 2nd place with a time of 2:41.97 and Teagan Hunt following closely behind touching in 3rd with a time of 2:43.06. On the boys side, Lucas Tyler had a clear win in 1st place with a time of 2:02.46 over 10 seconds ahead of 2nd place.  The next event was the 100m breastroke swim with some stellar swims from our 10&under girls. Annika Rupert in 1st place with a best time of almost 6 seconds with a time of 1:37.56 and her sister Bridget followed closely behind with an almost 9 second personal best time of 1:39.03. For the 11-12 age group, Atanas Tchaouchez finished in 1st place with a time of 1:28.26, Griffin Arnatt with an almost 10 second best time of 1:32.78 and in 4th place, Misato Hiraoka with a time of 1:27.25. For our 13-14 year olds, Hana finished off the meet with a great 1st place swim in a time of 1:17.45, Kali Lancaster in 2nd place touching in 1:22.39, Sydney in 3rd place with a time of 1:23.00 and in 4th place, Trinity Aragon-Scriven touching in 1:24.19. On the boys side, Daniel finished in 1st place with a time of 1:16.36. For our final event of the meet, Kate Marcovitz lead the 10&under swimmers finishing off the meet with a great 2nd place finish in the time of 6:23.36. For the 11-12 year olds, Naeva had a great end to the meet taking off just over 53 seconds and breaking the five minute mark, with a time of 4:55.85 and Maia touching in 2nd place with a time of 5:01.82. On the boys side, Griffin had a solid swim to end his meet, taking off 16 seconds from his personal best and almost breaking the five minute mark with a time of 5:00.03 and Nolan Crisp not too far behind with a personal best, finishing in 5:11.76. For the 13-14 girls, Teagan placed 2nd with a time of 4:51.53 and for the boys, Brendan Chow dropped almost 8 seconds finishing the meet off with a great 4th place finish in the time of 4:50.86. For our 15&overs, Jane had a solid finish placing 3rd with a time of 4:48.36 and Chrsitian Arzberger dropped just over 9 seconds from his best time finishing in 4:36.54. A great first meet to start off the season for many PCS swimmers, many more to come!
