Olympic Trials continued today with impressive swims from both Stefanie Schmidt and Rachael Newman.
Newman competed in her best event, the 200 Butterfly, and scored a best time in the morning with 2:17.73. Her morning time qualified her for the consolation final, where she was a bit slower, but still managed to stay under her previous best time, gliding to 8th place in the B final, with a time of 2:17.82.
Schmidt swam the 800 Freestyle, and knocked nearly 10 seconds off of her lifetime best, ranking 20th in the field.
