6 PCS Swimmers Named to BC Summer Games Team

Congratulations to the following swimmers, who have now officially been named to the 2018 BC Summer Games Team: Arran Robertson, Griffin Arnatt, Maia DenisNathan Chow, Sydney Meldrum, and Taiki Hiraoka!

Eric Hedlin Named to 2018 Pan Pacific Games Team

Eric Hedlin was named to the 2018 Pan Pacific Games Team for the 10km Open Water Race.  His 1500 Freestyle time from the spring qualified him for the team.  Congratulations Eric and coach Ron Jacks!

Hyack Meet Day 1 & 2 Finals Results

Day 1 Finals of the HYACK Festival Youth Cup started off with the 4x50 Medley Relay.

The Girls 11-12 team of Bridget Rupert, Annika Rupert, Mello Di and Lucy Hallett swam to a 9th place finish.

The Girls 13-14 team of Bridget Rupert, Kali Lancaster, Sydney Meldrum and Teagan Hunt swam to a 2nd place finish.

The first individual event of the night for UVPCS was the Girls 14-15 A Final of the 200BF where Teagan Hunt placed 4th.

In the Girls 14-15 100BR A Final Laura Rincon swam to a 5th place finish.

Ogilvie Fly Final Indy Grand Prix

Keir Ogilvie tied his PB in first event to slide into the C final here in Indianapolis, in 100 Fly. Ogilvie  and team Bc had a exciting evening last night after arriving in time to witness Katie Ledecky crush her own World Record by 5 seconds in the 1500m. BC will have seven swims tonight. Three BC Swimmers Crack Top10 At USA Open Water Nationals

USA Swimming’s National Open Water Championships ran this past weekend at Tempe Town Lake in the suburban Phoenix community of Tempe, AZ. Among the racers competing in distances ranging from 5K to 10K were a trio of SwimBC athletes looking to hone their open water racing skills alongside some of the best racers in the world.

The feature event of the weekend was the 10K race. After a few kilometres of close pack racing, six of the top Americans, led by eventual winner Jordan Wilimovsky, made a break, looking to open up some clear water between themselves and the rest of the field.

Eric Hedlin 2nd in the 5km at USA Open Water Nationals!

PCS Swimmers Eric Hedlin, Jon McKay and Chris Deegan all competed last weekend in the 5km Race, 2 days after the 10km race.  Eric Hedlin was closing in on the eventual winner, but ran out of room and had to settle for 2nd overall.  Hau Li Fan from UBC was the second overall Canadian in the race, placing 6th.  Jon McKay followed up his 8th place race in the 10km race with a 7th place 5km race.  Chris Deegan was also able to crack the top ten, placing 9th in the race.   Congratulations swimmers and coach Ron Jacks!
