Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered today. Another great day of swim meet hosting...and it made for a very competitive environment.

Jessica Luo is still 10 but gave the 11-12's a run and set a 10 and U Club Record at 35.11 to finish eighth!

Very good results for UVPCS in tonight's finals:

 

Relays:

200MR

11-12 Girls Set the tone for the night with a win and a Club Record by 6 seconds 2:12.85 (Crisp, Carter, Tarrant, Ballantyne)

13-14 Girls swam to fourth with personal bests on all splits

15+ Girls were also fourth

 

11-12 Boys came fourth and fifth

15+ Boys finished narrowly out of the win to settle for 2nd 3rd and 4th

Lauren Crisp lead off the individual events with a 2nd place finish and drop of 7 seconds at 2:15

Allison Ballantyne snapped 2 sec off her PB to finish 6th

 

13-14

Jordan Andrusak improved upon her best by a bit to finish just out of the top three in 2:10

Justin Howe climbed to 3rd in 2:04 in he boys

 

15+

Rachael Newman moved up from the outside lanes w a strong 2:06 for fourth 

Vicky Mock went stroke for stroke with Newman concluding it just behind her sawing off 2 sec from her PB (2:07)

 

In the men:

Crag Dagnall 3rd 1:53

Ryan Howe scored a PB for fourth 1:54

Evan Letkeman also in a best at 1:55

Zac Parkes and Tyler Smith rounded outthe field in 7th and 8th

 

200IM

Lauren Crisp was back in action a short time later to dominate for first and a personal best of 2:32

Emma Carter sliced 6 sec off her prelim swim to earn 7th spot and a huge PB

Allison Ballantyne shining again also had a best to finish 8th

 

13-14

Jordan Andrusak had an impressive last half to notch another win and a PB getting home in 2:24, closing the gap toward the club record

 

On the boys side

15+ 

Ryan Howe pushed the envelope to post a club Record in an impressive 2:05 losing a tight race for second spot to finish third(2:05)

Jon McKay improved his own IM time by an additional two seconds and a fourth place 2:08

Andre Kudaba continued his come back after an extended break from swimming for fifth in 2:09

Brett Zollen rounded out the UVic reps coming 7th.

11-12 Girls

Emma Carter had her first race at this distance cutting over 3 min off her previous go to claim top spot and approach the age group national time standard

 

13-14 Girls

Rachel Sawchuk swam her own race and looped 49 seconds off her seasonal and lifetime best to come 5th and slide toward her Age Group cuts!

Justin Howe cruised to a best and his first Western Canadian Q time

 

Our first Swim Of the Day Toque went to Allison Ballantyne for her 200IM in heats and going All Best Times in heats.
