Aimeson King Turns Out Three Strong Races in South America

UVPCS swimmer Aimeson King had a busy past week, competing in 3 events in South America.

In the first 10km, which took place on January 26th in Santos, Brazil, Aimeson had what Coach Ron Jacks described as the race of his life.  King finished in 16th spot, beating out five Olympians, and was only 27 seconds behind the winner.

King then competed in a sprint event in Viedma just before the World Cup, and had another strong race, coming in 7th.

Finally, at the Viedma World Cup 10km on February 2nd, 2013 Aimeson placed 15th out of 30 starters, with a time of 1:52.30.  The race was against the current, and as a result, two different strategies split off from each other.  King pursued the route of Olympic silver medalist Thomas Lurz took, but unfortunately out of the group that took this strategy, Lurz was the only one to crack the top 10.
