First Swim Meet of the Season Highlights

Our first multi-group competition of the 2023-24 was an exciting and successful weekend in Nanaimo. We started Saturday off with a new Provincial Qualifier Zoe Leong in 50m backstroke with a time of 34.48 seconds, leading off the 4x50m mixed medley relay. Swimmer Derek Francois qualified for Divisionals in his 100m freestyle with a time of 1:11.92, winning the 10&under category by over 6 seconds. Following their swims, Olive Winters qualified for Divisionals in 50m backstroke, shaving almost 2 seconds off her previous best. Amy Robinson qualified for Divisionals in the 100m breaststroke taking 4 and a half seconds off her previous best time. We had an abundance of best times over the weekend across all groups, as well as many swimmers finishing in the top three throughout all events. Our upcoming competitions inlcude the Rubber Ducky Meet, Bennett Cup, and Campbell River Invitational over the month of November.
