Fourth and Final day at Winter Provincials

Our final day of Provincials we were heading into Sunday holding 3rd place overall in the meet strong, looking to catch 2nd. We had over 25 individual finals this evening and went out with a bang of more qualifying times. Our first medalist of the evening was Sophie Wood in the para 200m IM, placing first overall. Up next was our 50m breaststroke swimmers, where Averie Hill jumped back up on the podium, placing 2nd. Maelle Sanborn placed 2nd in the 50m breaststroke, just .07 away from sweeping 1st in all the breaststroke events. Tracy Zhao jumped on the podium in the 50m breaststroke, placing 2nd and obtaining her first Open Trials cut in with a time of 33.82. Ethan Zhang snuck on the podium in a tight race to place 3rd, just 5 hundreths behind 2nd place. Ada Chen dropped 6 seconds off her best 400m freestyle time and earned a bronze medal in the girls 11-12 category. Noah snuck on the podium again in the boy's 11-12 400m freestyle to place 3rd. Our girls 11-12 4x50m freestyle relay (A. Hill, A. Chen, Z. Leong, K. McLaren) placed 1st which put the UVPCS girls 11-12 A team first in all relay events this swim meet. In the 18& over relays, the girls (E. Cabral, L. Faulkner, A. Gagne, K. MacLean) and boys (M. Toyata, A. Tchaouchev, R. Yamamoto, J. Joost van Maren) both placed 2nd respectively. Pacific Coast Swimming finished 3rd overall in the meet, just 200 points shy of second place.
