Jon McKay Swims Great at First World Championships!

Jon McKay swam the 10km Open Water race at the World Championships in Korea today.  With 10 Olympic spots available in this race, the best of the best were there with a mission.  Jon swam a very smart race given his minimal experience, holding back in the field and saving energy for the first half of the race, moving up to 18th in the third quarter as the pace quickened, and held in the top pack until the last mile of the race, finishing 24th place overall in a field of 75!  Finishing in the top third of the field as one of the least experienced swimmers there is a great result, congratulations Jon and coach Ron Jacks!
