Moses Lake Summer Sizzler 2024!

Our 15th year at the Moses Lake Summer Sizzler was a blast for our 25 swimmers aged 7 to 14 in the 38 degree weather in the outdoor, long course pool. Our swimmers sang the Canadian National Anthem throughout the entire meet alongside the Duncan Stingrays, Pacific Sea Wolves and Canadian Dolphins teams. 

 

Highlights include: 

Lukas Schroeder placed 1st in 7 events, 2nd in one place 

Owen Schroeder placed 1st in 3 events, 2nd in 4 events, 1 3rd place

Ari Stamhuis placed 1st in 4 events, 2nd in 2 events, 3rd in 2 events

 

Congratulations to Ari Stamhuis won the 11-12 aggregate award for the meet, and Lukas Schroeder who won the 10&under aggregate award. 

Additional Highlights throughout the meet include: 

  • Eleanore Fairhurst placed 7th in the 400m freestyle and 8th in the 200m breaststroke
  • Sierra Thrift placed 8th in 200m & 100m freestyle
  • Ethan DeGoey placed 6th in 100m backstroke
  • Maya Marston placed 6th in 200m freestyle & 50m backstroke, as well as 4th in 50m freestyle
  • Emma Rosen placed 5th in 8&under 50m breaststroke
  • Robson Thrift placed 5th in 50m butterfly

Congratulations as well to our 2 7 year olds and 1 8 year old who are in our Lightning Fast Program who raced in some 50 & 100m events: Myra Thrift, Beatrice Fairhurst and Emma Rosen. 

Our team had a 37-person team dinner at a local Mexican restaurant, followed by a local Applesox Wenatchee baseball game on Sunday and joined in for a morning practice with the local Wenatchee team for Monday morning practice.
