Pacific Coast Swimming took 90 swimmers up to Vancouver Island Regionals in Nanaimo this past weekend where we had new qualifiers and new club record. PCS won the swim meet with 5040 points with the next club over a thousand points behind. 14 year old Nolan Greenwood qualified for his first Canadian Junior Championship standard in the 1500m freestyle by 6 seconds. Derek Francois set a new 10&under 100m freestyle club record with a time of 1:08.80, breaking the previous record by half a second which was set in 2018. We had new Divisonal and Provincial Qualifiers as well over the course of the meet. Arnav GC made his first Divisoinal qualifying time in the 200m freestyle, Luka Williams made his first Divisonal time in the 200m breaststroke, as well as Libby Hagel in the 100m freestyle. Juliana Roper made her first Provincial cut in the 50m breaststroke this weekend as well. We will have a team of over 20 swimmers heading to Divisonals during the last weekend of June in Richmond, BC.
