PCS swimmers were on fire tonight at day two of Divisional Finals! We started off the evening with 200m freestyle where Nora Dietsch dropped 3 additional seconds from her 10 second best time prelims swim and placed first. Isabella Meyer placed 6th in her 200m freestyle with a 3-second personal best. On the boy's side, Sebastian Damian placed 5th with a 4 second best time. In the 13-14 category, Rubin Lee placed 8th overall.
Next up was 50m butterfly; Nora shaved off just under 2 seconds from her personal best and placed first in the girl's 12& under category with a time of 33.92 . On the boy's side, in the 11-12 category Noah Hicks broke 30 seconds with a time of 29.53 and took the gold. Up next was 100m breastroke, where Maelle Sanborn placed 3rd and Iris Wu placed 5th in the girls 12& under category. In the 13-14 category we had Tracy Zhao place 6th.
Our 50m freestyle finalists Isabelle Meyer placed 8th. Rubin Lee put up a fantastic fight for first in the boy's 13-14 50m freestyle final. Taking off just shy of a second in his race he placed 1st with a time of 27.13 . Makaio McKnight and Noah Hicks placed 7th & 8th in the 50m freestyle final.
Following 50m freestyle we ended the individual events with 200m backstroke. On the girl's side, Iris Wu placed 2nd (12&under) & Isabella Wu placed 2nd (13-14). On the boy's side, Constantine placed 4th overall (12&under) and Noah Hicks snagged a silver medal along with a 6 second personal best (13-14).
We finished off the night with some speedy 4x50m medley relays. The girl's 12& under A - team placed 2nd (I. Wu, M. Sanborn, N. Dietsch, & I. Meyer). The boy's 12&under team got the gold (E. Hicks, E. Zhang, N. Greenwood & C. Tchaouchev)!
We had over 10 new provincial qualifying times yesterday, and 10 top 3 podium finishes.
