VIRs - Day 3 Recap

B Prov

  • Jack Falconer was first in the group to crack the 5 min barrier in the 400 FR, followed by Justin Mazzuli in the next heat.
  • Kieran Hawes and Bradley Rumball both made it to a final in the 50 BR.
  • Elena Pepenel, Tahlia Reid, and Sabine Black all had breakthrough races in their 100 FR, with big best times from each of them.

B National

  • Bill Dongfang betters his own club records in 100 Fly (56.50) and 100 Fr (52.62). All of his results in 100/200 Fr, 100 and 200 Bk, 100 Fly, 200/400 IM were well under the existing Vancouver Island records.
  • Lifetime bests were achieved for Jordan Cowan in his 100 Fr (53.4), Sydney Meldrum in her 200 Bk (2:27.0)

D Group

  • Swimmers from D1 and D2 comprised the greater number of the 10 & Under contingent of the PCS team. MIlawas Chernenkoff, Teigan Hawes, Liam Altona, Adrina GC, Hamish Gilbert as well as Eli Hicks on Relays were all from our D Groups.
  • As always, at this level our swimmers learned valuable lessons in swimming. Starts, turns, stroke and relay take-overs got better and better: Mila as the standout of the group making the 100 free final and placing 9th in the 200 Free.
  • We are looking forward to Tier Ones in 3 weeks in Vancouver and The Duncan Invitational in early March.

UVPCS as a team won the meet over all the rest of Vancouver Island. UVPCS had 5674.5 points.
