Vikes Paralympic Swimmer Dixon Appointed to Order of Canada

VICTORIA - On Dec. 29 Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, announced 125 new appointments to the Order of Canada and this included Vikes alumna and Paralympic swimmer Stephanie Dixon. The new member list includes 4 Companions (C.C.), 35 Officers (O.C.) and 86 Members (C.M.)

New Club Record for Hana Edwards

Last night at the Ontario Junior International swim meet, Hana Edwards took down Ella Dalling's open club record in the 50 Backstroke in a time of 29.10 for Hana in the 50 back final tonight at the Ontario Junior International swim meet. Hana is the only swimmer at the meet this weekend, and will look for further success in the days to come.

Hooper, Espersen and women's swimming earn Varsity Council honours for November

The UVic-Pacific Coast Swimming family swept UVic's November Athletes of the Months honours.  Of course Bailey Espersen, male athlete of the month, and the Women's Swim Team had great swims at the Canada West Championships a few weeks ago, but even Alison Hooper, winner for Cross Country as Female Athlete of the month, was a long time PCS swimmer anf former club record holder before transitioning to Triathlon and Cross Country.  Way to go UVPCS.  The story below can be found at

Cracker 15 in the sack!

Cracker 15 is in the Santa Sack and if you wanted presents for Xmas this years Cracker didn’t fail to provide. It was a smooth, enjoyable, magical experience thanks to all of the amazing volunteers who provided the endless hours of effort that went into the event. Just shy of 700 athletes sprang into action on Friday and so many new levels were achieved. Surely there were a ton of club records being shattered in the 20 clubs attending. UVPCS certainly added new marks.

Twas the night before Xmas...CRACKER.. and all through the pool...just under 700 swimmers will take to the waves beginning Friday morning. UVPCS welcomes all 20+ teams from BC and Alberta. Looking forward to great swimming.

Vikes Add Five More Medals on Final Day of Canada West Championships

VICTORIA – The UVic Vikes swimming team wrapped up an extremely impressive showing at the Canada West Swimming Championships with 11 medals over the three days of competition that took place at Saanich Commonwealth Place from November 24-26.

Snowden-Richardson named Canada West Swimming’s Student-Athlete Community Service Award winner

VICTORIA – The University of Victoria Vikes swimming teams had multiple podium performances at the Victoria hosted Canada West Swimming Championship, Nov. 24-26, but among the top performers was also a major award for fourt-year Vikes women's swimmer Taylor Snowden-Richardson. The Nanaimo, B.C. native was named the 2017 Canada West Student-Athlete Community Service Award winner following the final races of the conference championship.

VICTORIA – Danielle Hanus etched her name in the Canada West record books with an outstanding time of 59:09 in the 100-metre butterfly to capture both the gold medal and the conference record on day two of the Canada West Swimming Championships being hosted at the Saanich Commonwealth Pool.
