Reminder About Vikes Summer Camps

Reminder to all PCS families that our Vikes Swimming Camp at UVic will be starting next week on the 14th.

Registration for all 4 weeks is open right until the morning of the first day. There is still space, so register before it's too late!

Camp runs Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm and includes a swim at McKinnon Pool in the morning and the outdoor pool at Ian Stewart in the afternoon.

Ages 8-12, Lightning Fast 3/Red Cross Level 6 or higher.

Pacific Coast Swimming Wins Provincial AAA Championships

Pacific Coast Swimming both hosted and won the Provincial Championships over the weekend at Saanich Commonwealth Place. It was the first ever win for PCS which led the scoring race from start to finish, ending the meet with 2729.5 points, over 700 points above the second place team, Richmond Rapids. PCS began the weekend with 49 enthusiastic athletes, the club’s largest contingent to date, who took an early lead in the point race and never looked back.

The 2014 AAA's Are Finished - Thank You To All Our Volunteers!

The 2014 SwimBC AAA LC Championship is in the history books and it was a huge success!

Thank you from UVIC-PCS and SwimBC to all our volunteers and officials.  Without your assistance, generosity and commitment, we could not host meets of this size.

There will be more stories and summaries of the weekend posted to the website over the next few days, but we wanted to take the opportunity now to extend our thanks to all involved.

AAA Prov Champs

Records Fall... Point Score rises!

On Day Three of the Provincial Championships at Commonwealth Pool the swimming has been hotter than the weather. The True Blue are riding a wave of inspired swimming. For the first time in the 12 year history of Pacific Coast Swimming the team leads the point score going into the final day of competition on Sunday.

Congratulations to Rosie Moulton. She took Athlete of the Year at Mount Douglas High School. Great to see a PCS swimmer being recognized for all the effort and time that goes into swimming!

2014 SwimBC AAA LC Championships Are Just a Week Away!

Hey PCS Families and Friends!  The 2014 SwimBC AAA LC Championships are only a week away.  This is one of the signature events for the 2013-2014 swim season and we are expecting close to 700 swimmers to come to Saanich Commonwealth Place in search of podium finishes and best times!

Friday Results from the 2014 SwimBC LC AA's

Lia and Fionnuala - 50m FR LC AA

PCS found the podium on the first day of racing at the SwimBC LC AA Championships on Friday at Saanich Commonwealth Place.

Georgia Ballantyne took gold in the Girls 11&U 50m FR and, Fionnuala McKenna and Lia Lancaster won gold and silver respectively in the Girls 12-13 50m FR.  On the boys side, Daniel Damian took the bronze medal in the Boys 11&U 200m IM.

VIR Summary Day Two

Saturday June 07

Day two was no less exciting. Our 10 and U crew have had a huge up tick in numbers and performance this season and it certainly showed. As well the 11-12 girls and 13-14 girls and boys were very strong. While our 15 and O are getting themselves ready for Provincial and National champioships this summer they were strong across the board.

Mock, McKay Make Jr Pan Pac Open Water Team

Vicky Mock and Jon McKay both came up big on the day in the 10km race in the Canadian Jr Pan Pac Selection trials at the Flowers Sea Swim in Grand Cayman. The race went well for both PCS competitiors. Jon McKay finished the men's event in second spot overall and as the first Canadian giving him an open water spot on the Jr Pan Pac Team, adding to his pool spot for the same.
