Victoria’s Richard Weinberger collects back to back Gold in Florida

FORT-MYERS - Victoria’s Richard Weinberger won back to back races yesterday during the 10th annual Open Water Festival in Fort Myers, Florida, wining his ticket to Shanghai for the FINA word championships.

The weather condition, sunny, 84 degrees with mirror like water holding a steady temperature of 81 degrees.

The day began with Swimming Canada’s 10km Open Water World Championships trials where Weinberger collected the gold a mere 2 seconds off second place finisher Aimeson King (2:04.14), also of Victoria.

Highlights from HYACK AAA Festival

8 PCS swimmers attended the HYACK AAA Festival May 20-22. We had some great swims from the B Provincial group members.

PCS Has Strong Showing at Zajac International

At the Mel Zajac Jr. International meet on the weekend PCS had its strongest showing in years. In spite of a faster than usual field, the team of 12 finished top 10 teams overall due to many top 24 finishes from a range of swimmers.

MacKenzie Downing won the 200FL and was 4th in 100FL and 9th in the 50FL.

Nick Sinclair scored in the top 8 in 100BK (5th) and 200BK (2nd) and 400FR (5th), as well as 9th in 200FR.

Stefanie Schmidt moved into the top 8 finishing in her highest ranking at 7th in 200BK.
