Jon McKay Qualifies for Finals at FISU Games

Jon McKay took 2 seconds off his personal Best Time/Club Record in the 1500 LC Freestyle prelims at FISU Games today in Korea, in a time of 15:19.17.  He qualified 6th for the final, which will be swum tomorrow at 3:00 AM Pacific.  Cheer Jon on, in your sleep or awake, as he looks to move up the field and take even more time off.

First Day of Swimming Camp is Less Than a Week Away!

Less than 1 week until the first day of Swimming Camp! There are only a few spots left, so sign up fast!

Kick off your summer with lots of time in the pool as well as beach trips, rock climbing, and other fun activities! Camp runs 9am-4pm, Mon-Fri starting this upcoming Monday July 13th-17th. Ages 8-12, Lightning Fast Level 3 and up. Additional weeks are August 4th-7th, and 10th-14th.

More Great Performances at 2015 Open Water Provincials at Thetis Lake

One day after UVPCS won its third consecutive AAA Provincial Team Title, the swimmers were at it again at Thetis Lake.  The event saw nearly 150 swimmers hit the lake at around 9:30 in the morning.  The 11-12 year olds swam a 1km race, the 13-14 year olds swam 2km, and the 15 and Over swimmers swam the 5km race (although some of our 14 year old swimmers swum in the 5km race as well)!

Story From SwimBC.ca - 'UVPCS WINS THIRD CONSECUTIVE AAA CHAMPIONSHIP'

UVic-Pacific Coast Swimming won their third consecutive SwimBC AAA Championship over the weekend.

While it was a close two-way battle between them and Richmond Rapids after Day 1 (less than a five-point differential), UVPCS took a commanding lead on Day 2 and never looked back, ending with a margin of victory of over 400 points, having accumulated 2890 points.

Richmond Rapids retained their second-place finish with 2419 points, while a resurgent Island Swimming Club was third with 1965 team points.

AAA's Day 4 - PCS Wins Third Consecutive Provincial Championships in Style

After a terrific weekend of racing for Uvic - Pacific Coast Swimming, it was only fitting to finish it off with a bang. Near the start of the night, the Girls 15-16 400 IM A Final with no less than 6 swimmers, finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 8th! Not only that, we even had 2 more swimmers in the B Final of the same event! After some more great swimming from across the board, the 12 and Under Boys Relay again struck gold in another National Age Group Record, this time in the 4x50 Medley Relay in a time of 2:05.34!

Day 3 of AAA Provincial Championships - Canadian Age Group Record Set and PCS Extend the Point Total Lead after Monster Day

PCS had nearly 40 swims in the finals of Day 3, most of which were in the A finals.  These performances put the team in a great position heading into the fourth and final day of competition, looking towards winning the Provincial Championships as a team for the third time in a row.  The most exciting performance of the night was that of the Boys 12&U 4x200 Freestyle relay - Anthony Gutierrez, Brendan Fitzpatrick, Keir Ogilvie and Michael Schmidt - breaking the National Age Group Record in a time of 9:08.65.

FISU Games Has Begun; Jon McKay and Stephanie Horner Putting Up Good Times

The third day of FISU games are under way and already PCS swimmers Jon McKay and Stephanie Horner have begun performing at a high level.

Yesterday Stephanie swam the 1500 Freestyle. She was chosen to represent Canada at the FISU games in the Open Water 10km event (to be held in a few days), but decided to swim this event as well. She swam well, finishing in a time of 7:17.63, good for 15th place overall.

Day Two Hot in the Pool

The second day of competition at Saanich Commonwealth pool was hot and humid ...and fast for the PCS athletes. After Day Two, PCS remains out front in the team score over 100 points ahead of rivals Richmond Rapds and Island Swimming.

PCS On Top on Day One!

Hot and sticky is how the first day felt at the 2015 Provincial Champs. And Pacific Coast Swimming were both of those. A lot of hot swimming in the pool and a lot of sticking to the plan at hand nudged PCS to the day one team score lead just ahead of Richmond Rapids...by a scant 2 points. The weekend will be a great race for the team title.

Records began falling in the morning for PCS with a new mark for Jessica Luo for 13-14 girls 50m FL (29.51) and continued in finals in the evening:
