MacKenzie came to Victoria in the fall of 2004 and quickly became one of UVic's and PCS' best swimmers. She represented PCS from 2004 through 2011, during which she swam for Team Canada at the World Championships, the Commonwealth Games, two Pan Pacific Championships, and three FISU games competitions. MacKenzie won a Gold, Silver and Bronze at the 2007 FISU games, broke three Canadian Records in her career, won 7 national Gold Medals, 17 CIS Medals, and won numerous athletic and academic honours along the way.
